My hunt for the perfect travel purse has spanned many years. I recently found traveled with the Baggallini Criss Cross and it comes pretty close to hitting all the requirements of form and function.
I have learned from personal experience that the wrong purse can make a trip harder. In my case, I have ended up at a police station in rural France reporting theft and barely eluding a pickpocket scheme in Madrid. I am a fairly savvy traveler, but in both cases, I was carrying a purse that did not work for my travel needs, got lazy, and became an easy mark.
The Baggallini Criss Cross is a solution to the problem. I traveled with it just last week and found it to be an excellent travel purse. Truth? I have not transferred back to my normal purse since I got home because I really like it!
So, let’s get started in looking at the bag.

Baggallini Criss Cross Overview
The adjustable crossbody strap itself is quite comfortable and can hang just where you want it. I am always forgetting where I put my ID when I travel, and the built-in card slots made it super easy to access and put away every time while not having to dig for your wallet. The fact that it is water resistant is a huge plus, you don’t have to worry too much about rain or spilling on it, it is easy to clean with warm water and mild detergent. /p>
In addition, the purse is a nice size. I can sometimes overpack my purse and get tired of carrying it by the end of the day. Three things about this purse addressed this issue. First, the unique shape creates lots of pockets for internal organization. This bag is perfect for carrying everyday essentials without completely weighing yourself down.
One thing I really liked was that on airplanes, I could comfortably keep this purse on and tucked to my side. In addition, the interior organization of purse means I can stock it with everything needed during the flight except my iPad, and have easy access to it without having to dig around under the seat.
The only downside is that the Baggallini Criss Cross Bagg is not big enough for a bottle of water. However, adding that feature would add size to the purse, making it closer in size to the Baggallini larger bags. Further, an outside pocket would look odd on a purse this size. Ultimately no water bottle is a trade-off I am willing in order to make to carry a slightly smaller purse.
In summary, I really like this bag. It is well thought out and makes a great travel purse. In fact, since returning home, I have purchased 2 more Baggallini’s in different styles and sizes to try them out. Stay tuned for those reviews soon!
